Multiworks was engaged by IEDM to deliver specialist civil works at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, supporting upgrades ahead of the Australian Grand Prix. The project formed part of broader enhancements aligned with Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) standards and involved the reconstruction of critical kerbing infrastructure along one of the circuit’s high-speed sections.
Project Description
Working within a nationally significant motorsport venue and a live public park environment, the project demanded precise tolerances, careful sequencing, and close coordination with event stakeholders. All works were completed within a tightly managed timeframe to ensure readiness ahead of the Grand Prix schedule.
Scope of works included:
- Demolition and removal of existing bevelled race kerbs and adjacent verge concrete
- Construction of new negative-profile race-grade kerbing using 32 MPa VicRoads-specified concrete
- Installation of integrated drainage at low points to manage surface water
- Verge restoration including topsoil placement and instant turf installation
- As-built survey and quality assurance reporting in line with FIA-aligned specifications
