The Ford Geelong project involved the subdivision and decommissioning of the former Engine and Stamping Plant, transforming the site into a future-ready industrial precinct. Multiworks was engaged as Principal Contractor under Contract FORD-CON-0015 to deliver a comprehensive scope of civil, environmental, and infrastructure works.
Project Description
Key activities included the construction of new stormwater drainage systems, sewer, fire services, and domestic water infrastructure, with buried services reaching depths of up to 6 metres. A stormwater bio-retention basin was constructed to manage runoff, discharging into Cowies Creek. Extensive soil remediation was undertaken to address contamination, including friable and non-friable asbestos and chemically impacted soils, in compliance with EPA audit criteria.
The project also required the separation of existing infrastructure to support future land use, including the installation of HV electrical services and subdivision of lots. Environmental controls were rigorously implemented, including air monitoring, geofabric protection of stormwater drains, and bunding of stockpile areas.
Multiworks managed and self-performed all remediation and civil works, ensuring safe delivery within tight timeframes and complex site conditions.
