Koorangie Battery Energy Storage (BESS) -
Located 300km north-west of Melbourne’s CBD, the Koorangie BESS, developed by Edify Energy, will be connected to AusNet’s 220kV transmission network and provide system strength to the Murray River Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). Our scope included the construction of foundations for the Tesla Megapack batteries, as well as the installation of associated conduits and critical infrastructure to support the 185 MW/370 MWh system. The project required meticulous coordination to meet stringent timelines, ensuring the battery foundations were completed and ready for the Tesla Megapacks to be installed on schedule. These foundations are integral to the performance of the grid-forming inverters, which will help stabilise the energy grid and increase the region’s renewable hosting capacity by up to 300 MW.
